Trends in Wedding Table Centrepieces

Couples seem to be steering away from the traditional flower centrepiece at weddings. Instead, centrepieces are becoming truly funky and unique, adding an extra touch of individualism and charm to an event. Here we have compiled a list of beautiful trends in wedding centrepieces. Have a browse and be inspired.   more »

Wishing Well Etiquette

The wishing well at weddings evolved from other similar wedding customs from other cultures. Instead of a gift registry, couples can now opt for a wishing well at their reception for the guests to place monetary gifts in for the happy couple to use for whatever they wish – honeymoon spending money, home wares of their choice (saves on having 3 toasters and eight crockpots) and the guests themselves don’t have to travel with a gift that could break or is too large.   more »

Napkin 101

Did you know that there are three different types of napkins? There is the Beverage napkin – and as its title suggests is for functions where cocktails and canapés are served. Luncheon – for the lunch time function and the Dinner napkin, of course the largest napkin and used for dinner. Basically the more food there is, the bigger the napkin!   more »

Ideas for Cooling Down at Summer & Beach Weddings

Summer time is the time for the beach wedding – romantic as the couple exchange their vows with the sea as their backdrop and the sand between their toes. If you are planning on having a beach wedding and one that will have family and friends attending you need to think of factors such as:   more »

Wedding Etiquette - Children at Weddings

This can be a touchy subject with some people. From asking that your guests with children don’t bring their children to your wedding, to having children at your wedding it is a fine line. Whichever way you go, children at your wedding or not, the decision is yours and your guests will respect that.   more »

Wedding Wishing Well Ideas

Becoming quite popular wishing wells are making more of an appearance at weddings across Australia. Used to help the Bride and Groom on their newly married life, some couples set the wells up for guests to enclose monetary gifts which will then go towards setting up home, paying for their honeymoon (or extra spending money for their honeymoon), paying for the reception or a donation towards a charity (which is my favourite use of the wedding wishing well).   more »

Celebrity Wedding Inspiration: Matthew and Camila

Well as of the 9th June 2012, Matthew McConaughey, the naked bongo playing heart throb of Hollywood is now officially a married man. That is right, try as the ridiculously beautiful Brazilian model and television presenter Camila Alves might, she could not “Lose her guy in ten days”, and instead they fell in love, have two beautiful babies and are now husband and wife. When I saw the cover of the magazine, I knew hearts were breaking around the world, but on the bright side, at least we all get an insight into their special day and can use their event as our celebspiration!   more »

Disney Wedding Favours & Bombonieres

What is your favourite Walt Disney movie? C’mon, we all have one! I’ll go first – my favourite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast. Tricked you didn’t I? Just because my name is Jasmine many people think I would pick Aladdin (Princess Jasmine). I do love the Disney Princess movies. I enjoyed watching them as a child and I am enjoying them all again with my five year old daughter who is more of a hopeless romantic than me! All of us as little girls clung to every moment in those movies and rejoiced when the Prince would save the day followed by a big romantic waltz and a fancy Disney Wedding. If the little girl within you is overjoyed that you have grown up and found your Prince Charming then why not thank her for her belief that he would come along one day by adding a touch of Disney to your wedding decorations?   more »

Wedding First Dance Ideas

You want your first dance as husband and wife to be memorable. Couples agonise over music lists trying to pick out the song that is just for them, a song that has meaning, and will create that “awww” moment when you take to the floor.  To help you out dear Pink Frosting reader, I have come up with some suggestions just to get the ball rolling. I have broken them down into categories as I know romantic and mushy is not to everyone’s taste…   more »

Beverly Hills Wedding Style

The Real Housewives Of…has taken television by storm as people (including me) tune in to watch how the “Real Housewives” go about their daily business of spending money, hosting parties and bickering amongst themselves. Out of all of them – Atlanta, New Jersey, O.C., New York, Washington and Beverly Hills, my favourite housewife has to be Lisa Vanderpump. She is well spoken with the soft British accent, is quick witted and very successful. This last season saw her finally getting her wish – seeing her daughter Pandora marry and boy what a wedding!   more »

Black is back – choosing a colour theme for your wedding can sometimes be tricky, especially if you have a groom that would like to be including in the design of the day......that’s where the simplicity of the colour black is perfect.........its sophisticated, its elegant, its “uni-sexy”, and it never dates.   more »

Wedding Seating Chart Mayhem

I admit when it came to the seating chart for our wedding it caused me some tears and frustration. For us we had an uneven number of guests from each side attending – as in there were heaps more from Mike’s side than mine. My biggest cause for sleepless nights and teeth grinding was the need to make sure that all guests were seated appropriately and that all were comfortable   more »

Wedding Ringing in the New Year

Has anyone put their New Year resolutions together now? I have begun to think about mine, but have not set anything down yet. Every year I write down to eat healthy and exercise. This time I am considering learning something new like Cheerleading or dancing (me in lycra – tee hee!)   more »
