Half Time

I would make a terrible Sports WAG. I have no interest in anything remotely athletic. Maybe that is why David Beckham married Victoria over me. I would have been the wife in the bleachers reading a novel, learning how to crochet or attempting to work my way through a book of sudoku puzzles…blindfolded.   more »

Deck the Halls with Reams of Paper

So the head office sent out the memo and now everyone is talking about it around the water cooler, whilst lining up to use the microwave in the kitchen or by the filing cabinets and snack machines. The memo mentions that the Social Club will be responsible for putting together this year’s Christmas party and the pressure is on.   more »

Adios Amigos

No one likes to say good bye, and even though moving about comes with my family’s lifestyle (hubby’s job) does not mean it is any easier for us. As we drive away from the friends we have made we do feel sadness at leaving them, they probably kick up their heels and have a party...   more »

Kitchen Tea Delights

Weddings are big business.  Planning a wedding no longer involves just planning a wedding.  There’s the engagement party, bridal shower, hen’s party, rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, wedding reception and the kitchen tea.  Kitchen tea? Oh yes, the kitchen tea.  Originally hosted for brides that lived with their family before marriage, the kitchen tea party is for the bride to collect all necessary items required to fill her kitchen.      more »

Welcome to my Royal Party

“Hi, I’m Kate and welcome to my home.  Thanks for coming to my party today”.  A simple introduction for a simple girl.  However, Kate is no longer a simple girl.  Kate is now referred to as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.  Kate now calls Buckingham Palace home and Kate no longer hosts parties. She hosts charity balls.    more »

We Like to Par-tay!

Everyone loves a party and no one can party harder or longer than a kid right? One of the things we have found since popping out our two off spring is the decline in dinner parties. At the time we started to have babies our friends were still sorting out engagement parties and wedding venues. We were the only ones with a baby and as such found the invites to dinners were few and far between. That was okay, we understood.   more »

I am not 50! I am 25 Times 2!

The strangest thing happened to me the other day. Whilst doing the dishes I get a phone call from Cher! (Of course I didn’t really get a call from Cher, my phone number is on the do not call register). Anyway, she had heard that I was busy starting to plan for another A-List celebrity 50th birthday party and wanted me to plan her big 5-0 too.   more »

All Eyes on the Bride - Hens Party Ideas

There is a time during the wedding planning that a Bride is given pause to hesitate. Not the wedding, no, she can’t wait for that. The party before the wedding, the Hen’s Party. Whilst exciting, it is tinged with a little bit of sadness as you and your friends acknowledge that now there is another part to your life which will subsequently result in babies and all the other things that come with being a married couple. Some of your friends may still be looking for their Mr Right.   more »

Useful Planning Tips for Holding a Big Party at Home

We're all been there - your neighbours are holding a big bash in their backyard and the noise is driving you nuts.  The music is blaring, people are laughing loud and you are getting so annoyed that you swear you can even hear the bottles being opened.  It doesn't have to be this way - you can successfully host a wonderful big party at home without upsetting the neighbours and having reinforcements called in!    more »
