Top 5 Boy's Party Themes

Sugar and spice and all things nice, that’s what little girls are made of. But slugs and snails and puppy dogs’ tails, that’s what little BOYS are made of. Little girls and little boys are made out of very different thing, which means they will probably have very different types of birthday parties. That said, not all children fit into these neat little boxes that society has created for them, so if your son wants a Frozen party, or your little girl wants a soccer party – that’s their prerogative. It’s their birthday after all. But for the sake of simplicity, we are splitting things down stereotypical gender lines. If you’re looking for boy's party themes, but he’s more of the Princess Party persuasion, head over to our ideas for Girls Birthday Party Themes.  Here are our Top 5 Boy's Party Themes:

Wild, Wild West

Cowboy hats and feathered headdresses should set the theme for a western party theme. Possible games include “Pin the Tail on the Horse/Cow”, a version of “Hide-and-Go-Seek” where the Sheriff and his/her deputies have to find the bandit, and “Sharp Shooter”. Having BB guns at the party might be a bit dangerous, so the kids can just throw stones at the cans instead. Serve sausage and beans for lunch, then build a fire so the kids can roast marshmallows, or S’mores as the call them in the US.

Space: The Final Frontier

“To infinity and beyoooooond!” Many kids love space, so a space birthday party would go down really well. You could hire a bouncy castle and then decorate it on the inside so that it looks like the moon. For planetary décor, those round paper lampshades work a treat, and just use some tinfoil to create some rings for a few of them. And if you really want to go all out, check with your local planetarium as you may be able to hire it as a venue.

Okay, we know this was on out post about party themes for grown-ups, but to be honest, the grown-ups who are into superheroes are still embracing their inner child. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. A Spiderman party is awesome! But really, these heroes belong to the kids. For a superhero party, let everyone dress up as their favourite superhero, have a superhero-themed cake, and let the fun cake care of itself. Or you can pick one superhero, like a Batman party theme and base the whole party around that.

Pirates of the High Sea

“Ho, ho, ho, and a bottle of rum! Arrrrrrrrr!” Okay, no rum at this party, but we guarantee you that there will be plenty of peg-legs, eye patches and hooks for hands. Contact an events management company that specialises in children’s birthday parties, and see if you can hire a ship wreck for the day that the kids would have a great time exploring. And don’t forget the treasure hunt! No pirate party would be complete without a treasure hunt. Gold chocolate coins might melt in this heat we’re having at the moment, so might be best to stick to hard candy in shiny wrappers.

Jurassic Park

We are pretty sure that every child in the history of the world has gone through a dinosaur phase. How stupid does your child make you feel when he or she pronounces Micropachycephalosaurus without tripping over one syllable? You can find everything you need for your dinosaur party decorations right here at Pink Frosting, and for games you could have fossil collecting and “Hot Dinosaur Egg”, which is just like “Hot Potato”, but with an egg. See if you can get your hands on an ostrich egg to make it more realistic.
