Best 1st Birthday Party Ideas for Girls

eb3056_large2.jpg

Let’s face it, a little girl’s first birthday party isn’t really for the little girl. One year olds do not have birthday party decorations preferences or an inclination for a particular cake design. This is really an opportunity for mum to host the sort of party she would have liked for her first birthday party, so whether that is pink polka dots or pretty princesses, we have the trimmings to throw that party you would have liked for yourself a few decades ago. So go on, think outside the box and throw the party that your little girl will want to recreate when she has a daughter of her own. There are countless themes for first birthday parties for girls, but here are some of our favourites.

Pretty in pink

Of course having a pink party for your little girl is a very popular choice, and really there’s no such thing as too much pink. We’re talking pink tablecloth, pink paper cups and plates, pink balloons, and of course a party just isn’t a party without a personalised banner, which are available in a vast assortment of designs and printed up with your own text. Then obviously you’re going to want a pink cake with all types of cutesy decorations on it, offset with a selection of pink frosted cupcakes. For beverages we’re thinking pink lemonade – it’s elegant, healthier than soft drinks, and fits nicely into the theme.

1st Birthday Party Kit

Beautiful ballerina

If you like pink, but feel that a colour is too generic a theme, why not opt for the ever-popular ballerina party theme? We have written about ballet themed birthday parties on this blog before, but that post was targeted at older children. For a first birthday party you are going to want to adjust that theme a bit so, it can be appreciated by tiny tots, as well as the moms and dads. We’re thinking maybe leave the dancing competition to one side for this one. However, ballet pump-decorated royal iced cookies are a must, as well as a ballerina birthday cake.

Ballet Party

Fabulous fairies

If you’re having your party in your garden, and in our climate, why wouldn’t you, then this is the perfect setting for a fairy birthday party. Hide little fairy surprises around the garden, like little statues of fairies and red and white polka dot toadstools. You can also create miniature tepee tents out of bamboo sticks and white muslin and decorate the inside with battery-operated fairy lights for the little ones to play in.

Fairy Party

Bouncing bunnies

If there’s one thing all kiddies love, it’s a fluffy bunny. You can find petting zoos online that will bring rabbits and a pen to your home, so make that the main attraction of the party and then plan the rest of the theme around that. We have loads of bunny themed invitations and bunny party decorations in a variety of styles, so we can cater to whatever look and feel you are going for. Then of course a bunny cake is an absolute must, and we have a wide selection of bunny themed party favours for the guests to enjoy when they get home.
