Red Champagne Cocktails smallUnique Christmas Parties

Dare to be different this Christmas!  If your budget is tight this year, think outside the box!  Pink Frosting has a number of cheap and cheerful Christmas party suggestions to entertain your guest without blowing your budget.

Tree trimming party

Rather than hosting a huge party, invite a few friends or family over for an intimate evening decorating your Christmas tree.  Prepare a traditional Christmas feast, put the old Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra CDs on high rotation and pop open a bottle of Christmas champagne.  In preparation, ensure you have all your Christmas ornaments repaired and ready to hang on the tree.

Cookie exchange

Ask your girlfriends that, instead of exchanging gifts, they join you for a cookie exchange.  Ask each guest to bake a dozen or so of their favourite cookie (or muffin, cupcake or any other sweet treat that they fancy) in advance to exchange with the other guests at your party.  Ensure you have cute boxes and bows handy to package up the assorted cookies, with each guest taking a box home to enjoy during the Christmas period.

Carolling party

If you’re game, then gather your musically-minded friends together for a night of carolling!  This party is perfect if you’d like to include both adults and children.  In preparation, print out the lyrics to your favourite Christmas carols, and rope in a friend with a ute.  Fill the back with blankets and ask everyone to hop in (ensure you have a sensible driver!).  Then, when the carolling is done, return to your house for eggnog and White Christmas.

Charity party

Christmas is about giving, so why not ask your friends to join you as you collect donations for your favourite charity.  Charities that collect toys, second hand winter coats for children or canned goods for the needy are good choices for this type of party because friends can help regardless of their budget.

What kind of fabulous Christmas party will you host this year?
