Simple Baby Shower Themes
Whether it's an intimate afternoon tea party or a dinner with fifty of your favourite friends, a baby shower should be a memorable affair. Choosing a theme for your baby shower can help you to tie everything together for a seamless event. Here are some ideas to help you get started.
Nursery Shower
Co-ordinate your baby shower theme with the nursery; guests can bring along a gift which reflects the theme, whether it is a special colour or style.
Scrapbook Party
Turn the shower into a scrap booking party. Provide scrapbooking supplies and ask each guest to make a page for the new baby's scrapbook. The baby will be welcomed into the world with a book to treasure, and you'll all enjoy the collective creativity!
All One Colour
Choose the colour of the nursery, or the mum-to-be's favorite colour. Decorate with balloons, plates, napkins, tableware in the colour of choice. A centrepiece could be a small wagon filled with stuffed animals, baby toys, lotions and baby clothes for the mum to take home at the end of the shower. Serve food in the colour theme and send each guest home with a delightful baby shower favour to remember the day.
Shower for Mum
If the mum-to-be already has a lot of baby clothes and supplies, guests can bring presents for her instead. Gifts could include bath products, candles, spa treatments, book vouchers, restaurant certificates and other products that will help the mum-to-be to relax.
Memories Shower
The focus of this shower is the month or year in which the baby is born. Guests can bring a scrapbook page or tiny booklet for the baby, newspaper clippings, popular music, postcards, photographs or letters - anything to put into a time capsule. These memories will be treasured!
Love Bug Baby Shower
It will be love at first sight when your guests arrive at your baby shower and see the cute Love Bug Baby Shower collection. Pink Frosting has everything covered - from baby shower invitations and thank you cards through to love bug themed games and hanging decorations. Perfect for the mum-to-be who either doesn't know the gender of bubby, or is keeping it under wraps!
Casserole Shower
For those mums-to-be that already have every baby item on the market, one good way to celebrate without spending much money is to host a casserole shower. Ask each guest bring a casserole, suitable for freezing, for the guest of honour. Having a selection of meals (provided in disposable containers, with heating instructions included) will make life a little easier for her when she brings her new baby home.
