Bar Ideas for Wedding Receptions

Create a wedding bar for your guests and you will make your wedding reception a party to remember!  Wedding receptions are parties afterall, and your celebration deserves the best wedding bar you can afford.  A well chosen drink adds to the atmosphere of the soiree and you can be as creative as you want to be in capturing the theme of the day in your bar choices.  Here are some ideas to consider when setting up your wedding bar.

Dress your bar to suit the theme - Think of your bar area as another important decorative element for your wedding.  You can bring the theme of your wedding to the bar with the use of wedding decorations like personalised table runners, fruit and flowers for a spring garden wedding, woven vines and grapes for a vineyard wedding, bamboo and orchids for an Asian themed wedding, or coloured sand, buckets and starfish for a beach themed bar.

Create your own signature cocktails in your name - Why not create your own signature wedding cocktail and serve this as your special drink at your wedding reception?  If you aren't particularly creative with cocktails, ask a friend who is.  Once you have decided on the cocktail, name it in your honour and you might even like to give your guests the recipe printed on a card as part of your wedding bomboniere.

Colour your wedding bar - If your wedding has a particular colour that you have used throughout the decorations and accessories, you can bring the colour into the bar as well.  Reds, greens, oranges, pinks and even blues can be brought into your wedding cocktails and bar choices.

Punch is making a comeback - A yummy punch is a great party drink and can work really well for outdoor, garden or beach weddings.  To make your own add champagne or sparkling wine to rum, dry sherry, peach schnapps with good quality fruit juices such as peach, orange and lemon juice.  Garnish with slices of peach.

Ladies will love a cosmopolitan at sunset - As the sun sets, serve the ladies at your wedding reception a cranberry cosmopolitan and they will definitely thank you for your sweet hospitality.  To make use vodka, lime and cranberry juice and serve straight up in a martini glass garnished with fresh raspberries.

Summer weddings love Pimms - A refreshing spirit, think about serving a Pimms cup which combines Pimms and lemonade with lime juice and plenty of ice garnished with wedges of lime and mint.  Perfect for a hot afternoon wedding reception.

Personalise your wedding wine and water bottles - Create the ultimate customised wedding bar with personalised wedding wine labels and personalised water bottle favours from the range at Pink Frosting.
