A mum is a PA, keeping family schedules, booking appointments, setting up play dates, managing the pocket money payroll. more »

Mother's Day Party Ideas
When I was in primary school I remember in the lead up to Mother’s Day we would be busy with craft classes, making gifts for kids to buy and take home to their mum’s for Mother’s Day. Families would donate arts and craft materials and out of it we would make jam jars filled with coloured sand with the lid wrapped in fabric and tied up with a bow. Bars of soap would be wrapped in wrapping paper with a stick on tag saying “Happy Mother’s Day”, little tulle bags of potpourri to go in mum’s underwear drawer. more »

Easter Bonnet Parades
Every time in the lead up to Easter, schools will put on an Easter Bonnet Parade. Parents are required to summon the Gods of Creativity and Patience as they buy out shelves of cotton balls, craft glue and stacks of cardboard and set about putting together a cute and festive bonnet depicting all things Easter. My mum with four kids is a pro when it comes to turning out Easter bonnets and Book Week costumes. more »
