Who Let the Dogs Out Puppy Party

puppyparty.jpg

So many of us now have dogs that are part of our family and we want them to celebrate with us too!  Whether it's a dog's birthday party, a street party for all of the neighbours dogs or a welcome home party for a puppy that has just arrived - there are plenty of reasons to celebrate with your family pets.  Celebrate your puppy in style with the fun Who Let the Dogs Out Puppy Party inspired by the puppies at Pink Frosting!

Invitations

Think about your guest list long and hard because you only want puppies at your party that are likely to get along.  In fact, this might be the hardest guest list you will ever collate!  Generally, if you have dogs that know one another, and owners that are all very responsible, there shouldn't be any problems.  So, once you have decided on the dogs who will come, you can send out a glamorous and fun party invitation letting your friends know that you want them to Let the Dogs out for a fabulous soiree!  The Puppy Party invitations at Pink Frosting's online party shop are the best we have seen, but you could also make your own invitations using the back of dog treat boxes and printing a big paw print from the guest of honour on top!  Messy but oh so fun.

Decorations and Theming

You definitely don't want to get out your best china for this party!  We recommend you set up your party outdoors in an area where the puppies can make plenty of mess.  Cover the table with a Puppy Party themed table cover which will save all sorts of messes and look super-cute as well.  It's always terrific if you have your table set up under a covered area such as a verandah, an umbrella or a tree both for shade and also so you can hang fabulous decorations from above - for this party you could choose from colourful paper lanterns in apple green and red with a Write Your Own Message party banner sitting between.  Then, for the fun!  Grab some big silver doggy bowls from your local supermarket and use these as the plates on the table for the dogs.  Line the middle of your table with big dog treats in vases and bowls to make a really fun table centrepiece.

Menus and Cake

Puppies adore treats, so the best menu for yourpuppy friends is real puppy liver treats, pigs ears and other doggy delights.  They will also enjoy a slice of cake - although I'm sure the vets reading our ideas won't be pleased!  If you keep it to one slice or one cupcake, you should be ok!  We love the idea of a bone shaped cake - you can buy bone shaped cake tins online - or make a towering cupcake display topped with doggy biscuits instead of cupcake toppers.  It will be puppy heaven!

Don't forget that it's not only dogs at the party!  Cater for your guests with seasonal finger foods, dips, canapes and fresh drinks to keep them cool as their pets enjoy the celebration.

Games and Activities

Generally, the best way to let the dogs enjoy the party is to give them plenty of free space to run around in with owner's supervision.  You could hire a local puppy trainer to run some games and drills with the dogs and bring along some fun areas and activities for the dogs to play in.  Dogs love jumping and fetching, running and digging - all great activities you can set up yourself in your backyard using some fun toys from the local pet shop as well as household objects like buckets, hoola-hoops, steps and more.

Favours and Guest Gifts

Say thank you to your guests for coming to the party with fun puppy party packs to take home.  Use a Puppy Party Treat Bag filled with yummy treats and some toys from your local supermarket or pet shop.  You could also send some snap shots of the party to the other dog owners in a frame as a fun reminder of the big party day!
