Planning a wedding is an experience of a lifetime.  This special time in your life will bring you many joys and happy occasions, as well as a husband!  You’ll have a blast I promise but after all the dress fittings, cake tasting, celebrant meetings and wedding organisation, you will be exhausted.  And what better way to relax and rejuvenate than by jet setting away with your new husband on your honeymoon?   Allow Pink Frosting to help you escape the craziness that was your wedding with a few honeymoon planning tips.

When do you start planning?

The day you get engaged!  Am I serious?  Oh yes I am!  Planning a honeymoon is like planning any holiday, only better.  You will be one busy chickadee from the day you get engaged to the day you get married.  Along with planning the honeymoon, you also need to save enough cash to pay for it.  Saving for a wedding and honeymoon simultaneously takes time so do yourself a favour and start early.  Start now.  Don’t forget you also have a wedding to plan, remember?

1.    Honeymoon budget

The first thing to decide on is your honeymoon budget.  Setting a budget is one of the most, if not the most, important aspect of honeymoon planning.  Your budget will determine where you can go, the quality of accommodation, range of extra activities and how you travel to and from your honeymoon.  It’s always good to budget for more than you think you will need and remember that you’re also trying to pay for a wedding at the same time.

2.    How long will your honeymoon be?

Once the honeymoon budget has been set, work out how long your honeymoon will be.  A honeymoon can be anything from a quick weekend getaway to a six month trip around the world.  The honeymoon duration can also depend on how long you have off work, any special occasions coming up after the honeymoon and if you have children, how long your children can be cared for while you’re away.

3.    Honeymoon type

Now the fun begins.  Think about what type of honeymoon you and your husband-to-be wish to experience.  Are you an outdoorsy couple who thrive on a physical challenge?  Are you a couple who enjoys new cultural experiences?  Or are you the couple always last to leave the dance floor?  Keeping in mind, you have most likely just survived the busiest time in your life so all you may want from your honeymoon is a pool, a cocktail in the sun and good book.

4.    Honeymoon destination

You have the whole world to choose from so don’t be shy.  There may be a destination you’re both dying to visit together such as America.  How about recreating your first encounter if you met abroad? If nostalgia is your thing, how about visiting each other’s favourite childhood holiday spots.  Or perhaps a road trip around your own backyard, Australia?  The ideas are endless and the world is your oyster.

Now aren’t you glad you decided to check out Australia’s #1 online party shop Pink Frosting?  We’re not just a pretty face here at Pink Frosting.  We help you plan honeymoons too.  How about that for value?
