Team Edward - Twilight Wedding Inspiration
In the next instalment of the Twilight movies, Bella and Edward finally tie the knot. Twi-hards all over the world have been eagerly awaiting the wedding although I think most are hanging out for the honeymoon. I have seen the photos and whoa! Feathers everywhere! Anyway, the tabloids have been pondering the dress and ceremony of the fictional love birds and many are closely watching the real-life loved up duo Rob and Kristen as speculation mounts that they are also engaged and preparing their own low key wedding. I can hear the hearts of a billion teenage girls breaking right now.
If they are actually an item, they have played it close to their chests. Great work on their part! An intensely private couple, many report the wedding of the most adored couple (by Twi-hards) will no doubt be kept low key, out of the spotlight and like many other celebrities you will not know about it until you see the matching wedding bands after a trip to Cabo in Mexico. Then again they may not end up getting married; they may not be a couple. It all may be a way of feeding the machine in promoting the movies. We may never really know, but for those who love a good romance, and are fans of the Twilight Saga you can incorporate an Edward and Bella vibe to your special day (if your fiancé argues I guess you can just use the phrase “Oh bite me!” or “Don’t be such a wolf”).
Yes I put my hand up and will admit I have the books. I bought them last year as a way of avoiding having to pack up the house prior to our move. Whilst my kids had their afternoon nap, I curled up on the couch, glasses perched on the end of my nose reading the stories and thinking “my goodness this Stephanie chick is set for life!” I actually enjoyed the books and by the third book, according to my husband, I would sit up in bed reading and making sighs, tuts, scoffing and giggling – I was not aware of this at all! Yes I should know better, after all, I turn 30 next month.
Okay I doubt you will have an over excitable vampire to organise your wedding for you, so how to work the Twilight into your Highlight without the Overbite? The images for each book are an apple, a tattered white rose stained with red, a red ribbon and a chess board with a red rook and white Queen. So colours will be predominately red and white. Some off the cuff suggestions; you could include one white rose with the red staining in your bouquet, red ribbon to tie the flowers, the flower girl basket, the chair covers and have the cake on a chess board with the rook and queen on top of the cake. Each guest would receive a red apple candle. A-ha! See!!! You are starting to really give this some thought!
Your bridal party can have Team Bride and Team Groom shot glasses as thankyou gifts. Red/amber (Edward’s eye colour) crystal scatters with red and ivory rose petals and floating candles to complete the vibe and if your fiancé is willing, get him glittered up and have the Groomsmen wearing nothing but tattered shorts – okay maybe not that extreme!
