Kids Party Candy Creations

Do you remember Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory?  The best chocolate factory in the world filled with Ever-lasting Gobbstoppers, lickable wall paper and Wonka bars hidden with the elusive golden ticket.  It was every child’s dream to be able to visit Mr Wonka’s factory and help themselves to as many lollies and chocolates as their heart and stomachs desired.  Doesn’t that just take you back to your childhood when kids’ parties seemed like the best thing since Christmas?  You always went home with a new toy from pass-the-parcel and a lolly bag full of goodies.

For many of you, you are now parents to your own children and celebrate your child’s birthday each year with a smashing birthday party.  Australia’s #1 online party shop Pink Frosting wishes to share with you a couple of our favourite kid’s party ideas.

Candy Buffet

Many adult parties like weddings are hot on the tail of the latest trend to hit the party circuit – the candy buffet (isn't the delicious table by Amy Atlas enough to make your mouth water?).   Why not spoilt your child with a fabulous candy buffet at their next birthday party to tell their classmates about at Show and Tell? The beauty of the candy buffet is you can be as creative as you want.

Say if your child’s birthday party has a Wiggles theme, why not buy a Dorothy the Dinosaur as the centrepiece and place a few ‘big red cars’ on the table and fill them with chocolates and lollies.  Should you be hosting a princess party, find a pretty toy castle and place on the candy buffet table as the feature.  Surround the castle with your child’s favourite lollies and find mini horse carriages or wishing wells and fill them with delicious treats.  Pirate parties could have a big ship as the centrepiece with mini treasure chests filled with yummy goodies.  The ideas are endless.  Pink Frosting suggests involving your child with picking a party theme and help you find toys to create their candy buffet masterpiece.

More party decorations and party supplies can be found at Australia’s #1 online party shop, Pink Frosting.

Cupcake workshop

Another entertaining activity for your child’s birthday party is a fun cupcake workshop.  Bake some delicious cupcakes in your child’s favourite flavour and give each guest their own cupcake on a special plate with their name written on top.  Prepare cupcake icing in a few different colours and place in bright bowls along the middle of the table.  Be sure to decorate your table with a colourful table cover.  In between each bowl of icing spread out bowls of various chocolates and lollies for the children to decorate their cupcake with.  This activity needs a bit effort and supervision from parents but can you imagine the laughs and smiles on kids’ faces as they create their own special cupcake.

Mystery box of goodies

For a surprise twist on lolly bags why don’t you buy party boxes in assorted colours and fill them with combinations of candy, toys and decorations.  Once boxes are filled, decorate the lolly table with your colourful party boxes.  Then as your miniature guests leave, they choose a party box at random and find lots of little surprises on their way home. Kind of like a lucky dip, but tastier!
