How to Host a Family-Friendly New Year's Eve BASH!
New Year’s Eve celebrations are filled with sparkling dresses, fantastic cocktails and bringing in the New Year dancing whilst cheering with your friends and family. Well this is a typical celebration style for the many but how do you celebrate New Year’s Eve once you have children? Don’t worry Pink Frosting has not forgotten about you! We are here to help you celebrate New Year’s in style the way you used to! At the Pink Frosting Party Shop we have put together some tips and tricks on how to throw a family friendly New Year’s Eve Bash!!
First thing’s first is deciding on the theme of your New Year’s event. This will set the mood for the entire night, how to decorate and what to serve. Choosing a theme with your children allows them to get involved and create a theme that is fun for both adults and kids! Make it a dress-up party! Kids love costumes and it means fun games can be played during the evening – best dressed competitions and charades are our top pick! Some of the most popular themes that are suitable for both adult and kids parties on New Year’s include black and white, disco theme, a karaoke party, or a masquerade party (mask parties are great opportunity for kids to decorate their own mask!).
Sending out party invitations can be a great opportunity for your children to get involved and craft together some beautiful invitations for your guests! Depending on the theme you have gone with designing your invitations can be easy. Get some plain white or black cardboard and cut into postcard size invites, you can then use items like ribbons in various colours, confetti and glitter to transform your invites into a spectacular creation matching your theme. Let parents know to bring pyjamas for their kids to change into later in the night.
It’s decorating time! Pink Frosting Party Supplies allows your house to be transformed with the magical feeling of New Year’s. Shower your house with gold and silver celebration scatterfetti and New Year’s Eve confetti. Balloons are always a must have on your decorations list and at the Pink Frosting party shop, there is a range of coloured balloons suited to any colour scheme! Layout on a table your classic New Year’s Eve essentials like party hats, tiaras, streamers, party poppers and of course party horns for guests to use throughout the night and at the big countdown! If you are hosting your New Year’s Eve bash outdoors, don’t forget the fairy lights and lanterns to sparkle up the place, remember its New Year’s Eve you cannot over-do it with the sparkles!
When it comes to catering for a New Year’s Eve party, instead of a sit down dinner (might be a bit difficult with kids), set up a buffet style table in your house full of delicious canapés and finger foods, also have a designated kid’s food table with more child appropriate foods and drinks. Using miniature plastic champagne flutes or wine goblets for the kids to enjoy their New Year’s fruit punch and soft drinks will make them feel like a grown up for the evening!
Now when it comes to the countdown, if your little ones are struggling to stay awake, set the clock forward and let the kids celebrate their own New Year’s Eve with the 9pm fire works! Hand out celebration bubbles for them to enjoy as well as all the usual party poppers and noise makers!
Set up a designated room in your house (like a rumpus room) and set up some beds and a ‘movie marathon’ for the little ones so they can park off in front of some classic movies put on their pj’s and fall asleep while the party continues for the adults in another area of the house.
Once the kids are asleep its time for the adults to celebrate their countdown into the New Year with chilled champagne and strawberries, always an elegant and celebratory way to bring in the New Year! Send your guests home with gorgeous personalised party favours with one of Pink Frosting’s exclusive personalised New Year’s Eve party design stickers on a choice of your own party favours! Try these adorable mini candy jars filled with scrumptious treats guests will sure to love taking home to remember what a fantastic family-friendly New Year’s Eve bash you hosted!
