Graduation Party Ideas

Oh my goodness! We are now in May! This year is going by too fast and there are tertiary students that are looking at the calendar and feeling the butterflies knowing that in a few months they will finally wrap up their study and hold in their hands the piece of paper, the qualification that they have worked so hard for. Some may be heading off on travels, or their job will see them heading interstate or overseas. Parents no doubt will be feeling just as anxious and excited as their child and if this happens to be you, you may also be thinking about putting together a party for their graduation.

First up I would recommend you head on over to Australia’s #1 Party Shop to start the planning. With the team on hand to provide advice and a great range of products to choose from you will be on the right path to the perfect graduation party. You can opt for a formal occasion, but after all those years attending tutorials and lectures maybe a relaxed, light-hearted party is the way to go. You could incorporate the qualification into the design concept from the invitations – of which could be pre-prepared or made by you using the Martha Stewart products. If you are going to be hands-on and make the invites, design them to look like a graduation certificate or the hat they wear at their graduation (include the tassel). Pink Frosting have bright fun and funky balloons and balloon weights that you can use to brighten up the room. Add paper lanterns, streamers and a bucket filled up with party poppers for the guests to use when the guest of honour arrives. The white Martha Stewart “Congratulations” banners are a perfect accompaniment to your party decorations. On the front of the main table why not hang up a customised party message along with a guest book frame for everyone to sign.

For catering, you could put on a barbecue, keeping the food tasty yet simple. Include portion cups for the guests to fill up with pasta salad, meatballs or other fork food (food that can be cut with a fork). I love the banana sundae boats that you can buy from Pink Frosting too. Oh and they also have these cute graduation cupcake decorating kits too – include them around the graduation cake or serve up separately on a cupcake stand. Set up a candy buffet with extra treats such as personalised lollipops and rock candy. Don’t forget to include the retro fruit drinking straws and trinkets too. If travel is on the cards for your party star than add some bon voyage touches to the party like bag tags or suitcase mint tin favours for the guests to take home along with a goody bag filled with more candy, thank you card and a little cake box. Pink Frosting has a treasure trove of goodie bags, boxes and party favours to choose from when it comes to gifting the guests. At the end of it all present your own graduation certificate over to your child – a heartfelt letter about how proud you are and what you hope for them and their future.

So leave the study to the student and between now and when they stand up on that stage, receiving their degree or diploma get onto Pink Frosting and start designing and creating a great graduation party.
