Fun Ideas to Decorate White Wedding Favour Boxes

1904-1141.jpg

When it comes to gifts, I am hopeless with wrapping paper. Having to wrap up gifts will bring out the worst in me as I wage a war against sticky tape, expensive wrapping and I often concede defeat to go and clean my paper cuts. Instead I look for creative and pretty ways to present my gift. When it comes to wedding and party favours, two products you can get crafty with are the two piece favour box and the white popcorn boxes.  Both items are small making them easy and quick to decorate which is great when you have to do up many for your party guests.

With the favour boxes, they are available in solid colours from Pink Frosting. For something different, mix and match the bottoms with the lids – so order half and half in different colours and alternate the base and lids. Ribbons are a must in prettying up the gift box. For the base part, measure and cut two pieces of ribbon and using double sided tape, secure one end of the ribbon to the inside lip of the base and then run the ribbon down the side, underneath and over and up the other side of the base and then secure that end with double sided tape. Repeat this with the second ribbon – so it is a “cross”. For the lid, cut another two pieces of ribbon, then lining it up with the ribbon on the base, attach with double sided tape and run over the lid. When you place the lid on top, the ribbons should line up. For the top of the box you can either secure a pretty bow, or whilst in the process of applying the ribbon, thread it through a pretty diamanté clasp.

Use craft paper punches to cut out details on different coloured paper and then glue them to the box, or glue lace around the edges of the lid. Adorn the favour boxes with crystals or little pearls. For a wedding favour gift, inside the box place a little packet of flower seeds and a poem about love.

The white popcorn boxes can be used as wedding or party favours. Using bright coloured permanent markers, “graffiti” the boxes with things like pet names, a favourite joke, date you met, location – all the sentimental stuff your guests will enjoy reading. Cover the whole box in graffiti – the colours will stand out! Or on one side of the box, attach your favourite photo, and on the other side an abridged version of how you met, or a favourite poem or song lyric. Or use the white popcorn boxes as the place cards with your guests name on the front either on the box itself or a tag attached to the box. Dig out those handy Martha Stewart paper punches (available from Pink Frosting) and use it to decorate the edges of the popcorn boxes. Make eyelets through the top of the box and thread a thin ribbon through it and secure the name tag with a pretty bow on the front of the box. For the gift, treats such as fairy floss, caramel popcorn, and the candy hearts are lovely ideas. Wrap them up in cellophane bags, tie with a pretty ribbon and then place them inside the popcorn boxes with a cute swirl lollipop in the box for good measure.

With some imagination, time and top quality products you will have fun making your own party and wedding favours for your guests. By adding your personal touch, the guests will appreciate your extra effort and could maybe give them some ideas for their own upcoming weddings or parties. Once you have a plan as to what you want to make, you can then buy your materials from Australia’s #1 Wedding and Party Shop and make the best favours for your event.
