Candy Wedding Favours and Bomboniere Ideas

Candy is a traditional wedding favour - wedding bombonieres have included edible gifts such as sugared almonds, wedding cake and cookies for many years.  If you would like to give a favour that guests will really enjoy, then candy is a great option for you!  Here are some ideas on candy bombonieres from Pink Frosting for your wedding day.

Traditionally, five sugar almonds are given to wedding guests.    If you choose to include bomboniere almonds in your wedding favours, they can be given alone or attached to another favour such as a cookie or bottle stopper.  The five almonds (or ‘confetti' as they are known in Italy) are presented in lots of either three or five - three to signify the bride, groom and their future child; five representing fertility, longevity, happiness, health and wealth.  Place them in the centre of a tulle circle and pull the tops of the circle together and wrap with a pretty ribbon to give to guests.

Wedding cake is a great option for guests as bomboniere.  A beautiful way to present wedding cake to guests is to slice the cake into wedges, place into a specially shaped wedge wedding cake boxes and present the boxes assembled in tiers to look like a wedding cake.  You can have a little sign next to the "cake" asking guests to take a slice of cake home with them and enjoy.

Decorated cookies make a sweet favour.  You can make these yourself easily or order online.  Present your decorated cookies in a lined glassine favour bag which can be personalised for an even more unique presentation.  Alternatively, if the cookies are really beautiful, you might like to use a clear cellophane bag to present them in, tied with a personalised ribbon on top.

Chocolate hearts make a romantic impression.  If romance is the theme of the day (and which wedding isn't romantic?), you could include the very popular chocolate wedding hearts in a beautiful bomboniere box or bag for guests.  Be careful with the quality of the chocolate - many chocolate hearts found on cheap websites and E-Bay have a questionable quality.  If you want good quality chocolate to give to guests, then buy them from a reputable wedding bomboniere retailer such as Pink Frosting.

Personalied M&Ms are a fun favour!  Popular for the past few years, personalised M&M's make a great favour.  You can get them made in Australia, but Pink Frosting has a great alternative.  The personalised M&Ms packets, filled with yummy M&M candies make a novelty favour that guests will really enjoy and also will be unique to your wedding day.

Personalised rock candy is a sticky delight.  Everyone loves traditional wedding rock candy and it really comes to life as a wedding favour when it is personalised with your names and in the flavour and colours of your choice!  You can also choose the packaging or jars to make the presentation even more customised.

Create a unique sweet favour with personalised lollipops!  Sweet and beautifully presented, personalised lollipop wedding favours is a great way to thank guests for coming to your big day.  You can also use them as decorative elements on your reception tables when you place them in a stand for guests to take one from at the end of the night.

Give your favourite childhood candy to guests.  If you have a real favourite childhood lolly, then consider giving this to guests from your heart!  This yummy gesture is also meaningful and a lovely way to add sentiment to an already romantic day.

Create a Candy Buffet for the ultimate candy hit.  Many couples are choosing a lolly buffet instead of a personalised favour.  You can easily set one up yourself with lovely jars brimming with colour coordinated lollies, little shovels and tongs for the candy and pretty wedding favour bags to place the lollies into for guests.  Learn how to make a candy buffet here.
